WWEA Retirement Penalty Calculator

How to use this calculator:

  1. Pick your retirement year below.
  2. Enter your base salary for the school year in the first column. You can get this from your annual statement of earnings. If you had an additional adjustment to your salary besides microcredentials (e.g. from coursework or overloads), you can enter those numbers in the corresponding year manually.
  3. Enter any stipends, again starting in the school year in the first column. You can put each stipend in its own row. You can also manually adjust any year of a stipend (e.g. changing from an assistant to a head coach, or changing it to 0 if you stopped taking a stipend).
  4. In the Misc. Income row, enter any timesheet work (subbing, committee work, etc.). This row will not automatically calculate from year to year, so you will need to enter that manually for each year.
  5. Enter the number of microcredentials you have or will do in each column. This will automatically add to your base the next year.

Disclaimer: This calculator is not an official predictor of benefits or eligibility. It provides an estimate based on the information entered. Members considering retirement should contact TRS to confirm whether their retirement may trigger a penalty for D200.
